What's New...

Karen Cooper

In the 6th Annual Western Artists of America Museum Exhibit in Kerrville, Texas, ASBA Member Karen Cooper won the Gold Award for Dry Medium for her piece titled "Bronc Driver". Also, Karen has been invited by jury into the 2010 Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show and Sale; she is really excited about that!

Karen recently finished another wonderful bovine pastel called "S. Gertrudis" which she had planned to use for a show on the West Coast but the minute the owner of the subject calf saw the work he asked to acquire it, so another artwork went to California instead.

Susan Williamson

Susan was awarded Best of Show at the Adirondack Pastel Society Show in May (for a cow painting!).

She was also accepted to the Pastel Society of America show for another bovine painting.

Rita Kirkman

Rita won First Place in Pastel and the Sponsor Award at the New Braunfels Art League Gallery special show "Texas" in July. Earlier, in June she won First Place in Pastel in the NBAL "People and Places" show.

Rita also has an Honorable Mention in the Artist's Magazine annual competition this year and her winning piece "4 at Rest" will be published in the December 2009 issue. She'll also be listed as a Finalist for her painting "Number 4".

Brigitte Woosley

Brigitte has lots of things to be proud of! Not only did she start this new organization that we're happy to be part of, she's been selected to take part in some prestigious exhibitions:

"23rd Annual Bosque Conservatory Art Classic", Clifton, Tx September 20 - 28, 2008

"Cowgirl Up" Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Wickenburg, AZ. March 27 - 28, 2009

J A Baker

Judith was also accepted to the "23rd Annual Bosque Conservatory Art Classic" with a watercolor painting. Although the painting features no cows, she's extremely excited about it!
