Although Terry Dunkum made several attempts at oil painting in the past, life always seemed to get in the way. Now after retiring from the San Antonio Police Department, he has been able to concentrate on his passion for oil painting. Terry tries to instill a sense of serenity that was missing on the streets of San Antonio during his career.

Terry is currently studying art with Bill Scheidt at Jay Hester's Highland House Studio. Terry, who is a member of The New Braunfels Art League, has had paintings displayed in Durango, Colorado, at local banks and in several local galleries. He has a number of finished works for sale as well as giclée prints. He also does custom paintings on a commission basis
