| J. P. "Pat" Childress | ||
J.P. “Pat” Childress lives in the Texas version of Paradise, the hill country. “Inspiration for painting is easy to come by here,” he says. “Just walking out the back door and seeing a whitetail deer bound away is awe-inspiring.” Since entering the world of oil painting several years ago, Pat’s had the good fortune of taking extended classes and workshops from some of the very best artists including Bill Scheidt, Bill Zaner, David Caton, Jay Hester, Michael Albrechtsen, Jeff Legg and Carolyn Anderson. “Each artist has taught me a lot about myself and the particular technique they bring to the easel.” “Living creatures, animals, birds and people are my favorite subjects. Cows are particularly fun and they come in so many shapes, sizes and colors. Only problem is to get them to avoid looking at the camera. They think they’re moo-vie stars, I guess.” email: pat@childressart.com |
